In the early morning hours last Nov the 24^th.  I had gotten up @ 2:00am to get the smoker going.  That morning, we were having our yearly thanksgiving dinner and I was looking forward to taking a smoked turkey. Tex and I (my dog) were having a good time. Headlamp on, out under some apple trees, doing the man thing. Getting the smoker up to temp while giving the bird good message of mayo and seasonings. By 3:30 she’s all cozy and getting a steady flow of heat and smoke and I can maybe get some rest before heading to church.

Ha Ha yah right.  So, I settle in for some time with the Lord. I do the - open the bible and read where it lands routine and believe me, I am an expert at that method. ISAIAH 28:10 (For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little.) Within seconds the Holy Ghost begins to break over my spirit and I am caught up in his presence. I read though to vs 13 and I can’t see due to the tears that are pooling in my eyes. I read it 2 maybe 3 times and have to stop to collect myself as God is breaking me, like only He can do.

Now its time to get some background. Context is Important, that there be no misunderstanding in what God has to say.  ISAIHA has a word for drunkards of Ephraim. They are prosperous and have enjoyed the blessing of God in years past. Strong warriors in battle because of past obedience to God. But wine and fun pleasures have blurred their vision and weakened their awareness, THEY DON’T EVEN KNOW THE STATE THEY ARE IN. Don’t think it just the wine and strong drink, there are spiritual parallels. We see in vs 7; (through strong drink they are OUT OF THE WAY and the priest and the prophet also are OUT OF THE WAY and ere in vision and stumble in judgement).

Vs 9 ; (Whom shall he (the Lord) teach knowledge? And whom shall he make to understand doctrine? Them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breast.)  How easy it is to get off Gods path and travel on a side path. Pride always comes before the fall and a people that seek after blessing, blessing, blessing, give me, give me, give me, soon lose sight of the WAY.

Here’s what God was showing me – ISAIHA says, who’s going to get you out of this mess. You erred because you were spiritually immature, and shall a baby just weaned give you the knowledge to correct yourself? God says – no! this is how it works; for precept upon precept, line upon line, here a little there a little. If you refuse to do that then I will send a foreigner to correct you (with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people vs 11). Even with the foreigners he wants to give the people a refreshing, but they would not hear vs12.

Then the last option vs 13 God repeats himself; (BUT THE WORD OF THE LORD WAS UNTO THEM precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little and there a little; that they may go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken).

This message came with much heartache and crying that morning. Heavy intersession came over me and the weight of that moment in Gods presence is still in play today, in my life.
